Financial Analyst (Engineering and R&D)

Location: Los Angeles, California, USA; in-person collaboration at the Playa Vista office.

What you will do

• Own company-wide headcount planning and department-level headcount modeling.
• Partner with Engineering and R&D leadership on financial analysis, planning, and visibility.
• Support annual budgets, reforecasts, and long-range planning cycles.
• Perform budget-to-actual and forecast-to-actual variance analysis and surface actionable insights.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, executive, and management reporting materials.
• Support PO and PR approvals and tracking for multi-million-dollar Engineering projects while improving FP&A processes and systems.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a comparable analytical finance role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis skills.
• Familiarity with PO and PR approval processes for multi-million-dollar projects.
• Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and communicate effectively with senior leadership and technical Engineering/R&D stakeholders.
• U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Engineering and R&D cost structures and financial dynamics.
• Experience in the space, aerospace, or defense industry.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint skills.
