Climate Science Advisor (CDR)

Location: Must be based in the UK or within 3 hours of the GMT/BST timezone

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000

What you will do

• Lead defined-scope client engagements from scoping and proposal to delivery and presentation.
• Provide expert policy and regulatory advice, CDR strategy, and portfolio design to corporate buyers.
• Produce high-quality written deliverables including assessment reports, strategy documents, and price models.
• Collaborate with the Director of Climate Science and Policy on complex, large-scale engagements.
• Support sales and marketing initiatives by contributing to climate thought leadership and educating potential buyers.
• Direct the work of external associates and junior colleagues on project deliverables.

Requirements

• MSc in chemical engineering, environmental science, or relevant natural sciences (or BSc/BEng with 5+ years of experience).
• Expertise in carbon dioxide removal (CDR) pathways such as biochar, BECCS, mineralisation, ERW, or DACCS.
• Demonstrable experience in client-facing consulting, advisory, or commissioned research projects.
• Working knowledge of policy and standards landscapes (e.g., SBTi, GHG Protocol, EU/UK ETS, BSI Flex).
• Must be based in the UK or within 3 hours of the GMT/BST timezone.
• Must be willing to travel to London quarterly.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• PhD in a relevant discipline.
• Experience managing subcontractors or junior team members.
• Published research or contributions to standards and methodologies.
