What you will do

• Design, implement, and iterate on mission, behavior, and motion planners for autonomous ground support equipment operating in airport airside environments.
• Define algorithms, interfaces, and architecture across the planning stack.
• Prototype and evaluate optimization-based, search-based, and learning-augmented planning approaches, bringing effective solutions into production.
• Collaborate with perception, controls, localization, and systems engineering teams to deliver an integrated autonomous driving system.
• Establish software development, functional safety, and systems engineering practices for the planning domain.
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and design discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, physics, or a related field.
• Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing planning modules for autonomous systems deployed in production or real-world operations.
• Strong programming skills in C++ or Python and experience with Linux-based operating systems.
• Ability to independently turn ambiguous technical problems into well-architected solutions.
• Strong communication, proactiveness, and ownership.

Nice to have

• Master’s or Ph.D. in computer science, robotics, or a related field.
• Mastery of Modern C++14 or later and safety-critical coding practices such as MISRA and ISO 26262.
• 5+ years of industry experience in planning for robotic ground vehicles.
• In-depth knowledge of DDS frameworks such as ROS/ROS2 or other networking middleware.
• Startup experience and adaptability to changing priorities.
