Staff Software Engineer Infrastructure (Garage)

What you will do

• Develop, configure, and maintain uploaders, servers, and networking equipment at garage facilities.
• Manage software releases to autonomous tractors and on-premises devices across active deployment sites.
• Build and maintain C++ and Python applications for real-time operational data processing.
• Ensure reliable ingestion of dashcam images, telemetry, and other vehicle data, including uploads to cloud infrastructure.
• Monitor server health, network performance, and data pipeline reliability while maintaining operator-facing tools.
• Automate on-premises operations, monitoring, and deployment workflows with Python and Bash.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience managing on-premises infrastructure, bare-metal systems, and physical networking environments.
• Proficiency in C++ with the standard library, basic multithreading, sockets, and WebSockets.
• Strong Python and Bash skills for automation, tooling, and operational scripting.
• Hands-on experience configuring physical servers, computers, and network hardware.
• Experience deploying software to physical devices or embedded systems and managing edge-to-centralized data flows.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or operationally deployed technology.
• Background in embedded systems or edge computing with C++ data-processing applications.
• Experience supporting operator-facing tools or lightweight UI components.
• Knowledge of monitoring and alerting for on-premises systems and network infrastructure.
• ROS/ROS2 familiarity or experience with robotic software deployment pipelines.
