Sr. Testing Engineer (Electrical Safety)

What you will do

• Perform product validation, safety, performance, and life testing according to DQTPs, test protocols, engineering methods, product specifications, and applicable standards.
• Review test data and reports, verify product designs and reliability, and analyze and track test failures.
• Manage daily laboratory safety operations, EHS compliance, equipment maintenance, calibration, consumables, and laboratory quality systems.
• Develop standardized testing workflows, procedures, test capabilities, and new test fixtures for internal laboratories and ODM/OEM suppliers.
• Establish the Vietnam electrical safety laboratory, including layout planning, equipment selection and procurement, installation, commissioning, and acceptance.
• Coordinate testing methods and outcomes with business units, engineering, product development, sourcing, quality teams, suppliers, third-party laboratories, and the US laboratory team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Material Science, Product Testing, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in laboratory work, product development and validation, product compliance, or regulatory affairs, including solid managerial experience.
• Knowledge of international electrical safety standards, including UL, CSA, IEC, and EN standards, plus experience testing household or medical appliances.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025, ISO 9000, ISO 13485, laboratory EHS management, test protocol creation, and test fixture development.
• A valid electrician certificate or locally recognized equivalent qualification, or more than 3 years of experience maintaining electrical and test equipment.
• Good English proficiency is required for daily technical communication and documentation. Strong Mandarin proficiency is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience building a new laboratory and working in a laboratory, third-party agency, or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with automated test equipment development, PLC, LabVIEW, or Python.
• Formal training in ISO 17025, electrical product standards, or laboratory safety regulations.
• Experience developing training plans and coaching laboratory teams.
