Medior Data Pipeline Engineer

Location: Budapest, Bartók Béla út, Hungary; hybrid model with 3 days on-site and 2 days working from home each week. Once every two weeks, adjusted hours aligned with the New York time zone are required.

What you will do

• Manage and migrate ETL pipelines between various source systems.
• Validate pipeline build success and output data quality.
• Analyze and resolve ETL blockers, pipeline issues, and data discrepancies.
• Communicate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts across data domains.
• Support data migration activities across systems and platforms.
• Provide operational support in Snowflake and document handed-over work.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in data, ETL, data migration, or a similar role.
• 2–3 years of hands-on SQL experience and at least 1–2 years of Python experience.
• Practical experience with Pandas and/or PySpark.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using current AI chat and coding tools.
• Good written and spoken English; strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Budapest three days per week and align with New York hours once every two weeks.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, Dataiku, Impala, or DB2.
• Experience with dbt, Airflow, Databricks, or another modern data engineering technology.
