Senior Commissioning / Test Engineer (OCS)

Location: On-site in Mississauga or Brampton, Ontario, Canada

Expected compensation: CAD 70,000–120,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Plan, coordinate, and execute overhead contact system commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting activities on site.
• Prepare and apply test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria for the contact line system.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults affecting overhead contact system infrastructure.
• Support system energization, integration testing, cutover, and final acceptance for the Hurontario LRT project.
• Coordinate subcontractors and project stakeholders while tracking progress, risks, and priority issues.
• Produce test records, snag lists, commissioning reports, and record drawings while following site health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of field experience in overhead contact system or catenary commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with rail, LRT, or railway electrification projects.
• Strong planning, coordination, communication, and subcontractor management skills.
• Working knowledge of North American and international overhead contact system and electrification standards.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical background.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, site-based commissioning environment.

Nice to have

• Railway OCS linesperson or catenary certification.
• Experience with P3 or DBFOM transit projects.
• Working-at-height certification.
• Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence.
• Experience reading electrical drawings and using CAD tools.
