Lead Programmer (Unreal Engine)

hirify.global is an Ireland-based AAA game development studio acquired by Virtuos, a global video game development and art production company.

What you will do

• Provide technical oversight and direction for a team of senior and junior programmers.
• Establish coding standards, practices, and technical documentation.
• Develop NPC behaviours and character movement in Unreal Engine 5.
• Implement realistic NPC behaviours, movement, and animation systems.
• Identify project risks, propose mitigations, and escalate issues when necessary.
• Collaborate with game designers, animators, project managers, and other engineering teams.

Requirements

• Proven lead experience in the games industry, including shipping at least one Unreal Engine title as a lead.
• At least 5 years of experience with Unreal Engine.
• Strong C++ programming skills.
• Expertise in character movement and animation systems.
• Experience collaborating with designers and animators on movement and animation systems.
• Experience building tools for debugging and developing movement and animation.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Mover.
• Expertise in building animation blueprints.
• Knowledge of AI.
