TL;DR

Lab Calibration Engineer (Automotive) (Metrology and ISO/IEC 17025): Managing calibration and measurement systems for laboratory equipment used in hardware environmental validation with an accent on traceability, uncertainty evaluation, and compliance. Focus on analyzing calibration results, supporting audits, investigating measurement discrepancies, and maintaining reliable laboratory operations.

Location: Onsite in Queretaro, Mexico, at the regional validation laboratory. Willingness to travel up to 10% is required.

What you will do

Manage calibration programs, schedules, records, KPIs, reports, and dashboards for hardware environmental validation laboratory equipment.
Evaluate calibration suppliers and review certificates for ISO/IEC 17025 compliance, measurement uncertainty, and metrological traceability.
Support equipment qualification, preventive maintenance, environmental chamber calibration, and validation activities.
Develop laboratory procedures, work instructions, calibration methods, and technical records.
Analyze calibration results, identify trends, recommend corrective or preventive actions, and investigate measurement discrepancies and equipment failures.
Participate in internal and external audits, support audit-finding closure, and contribute to 6S and EHS initiatives.

Requirements

Degree in engineering, physics, metrology, applied sciences, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in calibration laboratories, metrology, ISO/IEC 17025 environments, environmental or validation laboratories, and audit participation.
Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, DKD-R 5-7, IEC 60068-3-5, EURAMET cg-20, VIM, ILAC G8 2019, and metrological traceability.
Understanding of measurement uncertainty, statistical analysis, and measurement system analysis principles.
Competent computer skills, including Excel, web systems, and Power BI.
Intermediate English proficiency is required for written and verbal technical and business communication.

Nice to have

ISO/IEC 17025 Internal Auditor certification.
ASQ Certified Calibration Technician certification.
Metrology or measurement science certifications.
Six Sigma Green Belt.
