Project Operations Director - Warehouse Automation

Location: Remote within the United Kingdom, with domestic UK travel required and potential international travel.

What you will do

• Lead and support the Project Operations team, including its structure, delivery performance, growth, and development.
• Oversee customer projects from design through installation, system commissioning, and handover to Maintenance.
• Ensure project milestones, customer expectations, financial targets, safety requirements, and quality standards are met.
• Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, external partners, customers, and stakeholders across Deployment, R&D, Maintenance, and Sales.
• Improve deployment processes and operational practices as the UK business scales.
• Support sales activities through offer validation, client meetings, and early project discussions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in a similar leadership role, including people management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant field.
• Experience managing complex technical projects in warehouse automation, robotics, logistics, industrial automation, material handling, intralogistics, or supply chain environments.
• Strong knowledge of safety, quality, contractor coordination, and site delivery requirements for complex deployment or installation environments.
• Strong leadership, customer service, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Fluent, client-facing English communication skills are required for working with UK-based customers and partners.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering complex automation, industrial, construction, or technical projects under CDM 2015 regulations.
