Engineering Manager (Backend)

What you will do

• Lead and grow a team of 8-10 engineers responsible for core trading backend services.
• Guide the evolution of the trading stack from legacy systems to modern replacements.
• Review and contribute to architecture discussions for matching engines and market data gateways.
• Champion performance and market data work as top priorities.
• Integrate AI-assisted engineering practices into the team's workflow.
• Partner cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to drive roadmap execution.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, or United Arab Emirates.
• Prior experience managing engineering teams with a preference for hands-on technical leadership.
• Hands-on experience with Linux and either distributed/highly-concurrent systems or low-latency/high-volume transaction environments.
• Proficiency in Rust and/or C++, with comfort working in a polyglot environment including Go and Python.
• Demonstrated knowledge of order types, trading systems, and financial products.
• BS in a technical or quantitative field.

Nice to have

• Experience with Aeron or similar messaging/transport systems.
• Comfort with multicast-based market data distribution.
• Cryptocurrency or blockchain familiarity.
