Senior Design Engineer (Centrifugal Pumps)

What you will do

• Execute and review detailed designs and bills of material for centrifugal pumps, rotating equipment, and related components, including sheet metal parts.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using Creo and Windchill or equivalent CAD tools.
• Perform engineering calculations and support design analysis using technical data and MS Excel.
• Work with manufacturing teams to confirm design feasibility and knowledge of applicable manufacturing processes.
• Support product testing and validation activities while ensuring compliance with standards, specifications, and internal design practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, cost optimization, and design standardization initiatives.

Requirements

• 6–9 years of experience in pump design or rotating equipment.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Hands-on proficiency with CAD tools for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailing.
• Experience with fits, tolerances, GD&T, stack-up analysis, and functional performance of mechanical systems.
• Strong analytical and mechanical design skills, with knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to execute design tasks independently with minimal supervision.

Nice to have

• Experience in sheet metal design, pump testing, and validation.
• Knowledge of acoustic design, noise attenuation, and standards such as ISO, ASME, and HI.
• Familiarity with FEA and CFD tools.
• Ability to use Python-based design automation and optimization tools.
