Mechanical Engineer (Centrifugal Compressors)

Location: Hybrid; Must be based in or able to work from Wilrijk/Antwerp, Belgium

What you will do

• Develop next-generation centrifugal compressor technologies throughout the full product development cycle.
• Size and validate critical rotating components including shafts, gears, and bearings.
• Perform engineering calculations, finite element analyses (FEA), and rotor dynamic assessments.
• Maintain accurate product structures and manage engineering BOMs.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to translate technical challenges into practical design solutions.
• Support prototype assembly, testing, and field failure investigations.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the design and development of mechanical systems or rotating equipment.
• Strong knowledge of gears, shafts, rolling-element, and hydrodynamic bearings.
• Proficiency in FEA, rotor dynamics, and engineering calculations.
• Familiarity with DFMEA, design reviews, and GD&T standards.
• English: Fluent (C1) required.

• Knowledge of Dutch language.
