Associate Security Engineer, Identity Security

Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Permanent full-time position based in Australia; Australian citizenship required.

What you will do

• Administer and support Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, hybrid identity, directory services, and identity synchronization platforms.
• Manage identities, access, authentication, authorization, privileged access, identity governance, and lifecycle processes for users, groups, devices, applications, and service accounts.
• Troubleshoot identity and access issues, perform root cause analysis, and support incident response, security monitoring, threat detection, and remediation.
• Support enterprise application integrations, federation, and modern authentication using SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, SCIM, MFA, Conditional Access, and passwordless authentication.
• Monitor directory health, PKI, certificate management, governance, audit, risk, and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to cloud deployments, migrations, automation, reporting, documentation, and continuous improvement using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, KQL, and related technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, identity administration, systems administration, cloud support, service desk support, or a related technical field.
• Australian citizenship required.
• Foundational knowledge of accounts, permissions, authentication, operating systems, networking, cloud services, least privilege, MFA, RBAC, and identity lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, or comparable enterprise technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, documentation, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.

Nice to have

• Hands-on administration experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Azure, or Microsoft 365.
• Experience with PowerShell, scripting, automation, API integrations, enterprise applications, or access management processes.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, SIEM tools, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, SCIM, LDAP, Kerberos, PKI, or certificate-based authentication.
• Experience with formal change management, incident management, compliance, or audit requirements.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft identity and security certifications or CompTIA Security+ and Network+.
