HL Community Lending Officer

Location: Fully onsite in Tacoma, Washington

Pay range: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, with possible performance-based incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Originate and sell self-generated residential mortgage loans through relationships with real estate professionals, builders, and other referral sources.
• Develop and execute business development and marketing plans aligned with monthly and quarterly production standards.
• Interview prospective borrowers, analyze financial and credit data, identify financing objectives, and recommend suitable mortgage products and pricing.
• Collect required documentation, including appraisals, title reports, financial information, and credit reports, to support accurate disclosures and approvals.
• Manage loan files through processing, underwriting, closing, funding, and post-closing.
• Maintain regulatory compliance, complete required training, and provide coaching or subject-matter expertise when requested.

Requirements

• Previous self-generated mortgage origination, sales, and loan structuring experience.
• Knowledge of home lending processes, including processing, underwriting, closing, and funding.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, borrower income analysis, negotiation, communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to develop sustainable referral sources, generate leads, manage multiple tasks, meet strict deadlines, and maintain customer relationships.
• Proficiency with personal computers and software such as Word and Excel.
• Must be registered as a Mortgage Loan Originator in accordance with SAFE Act requirements and authorized to act as a Bank Closed-End MLO.
