What you will do
- Own monthly bookkeeping and financial close across a growing portfolio of studio-built companies.
- Deliver accurate monthly financials and provide day-to-day accounting support to portfolio leadership.
- Manage accounting onboarding and setup as new portfolio companies launch.
- Support accounting, including reconciliations, expense categorization, tax compliance, and the tax filing calendar.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors while supporting audit readiness.
- Improve close processes, reporting cadence, and workflows across multiple entities using accounting and AI tools.
Requirements
- CPA certification required.
- Approximately 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, including a strong public accounting or audit foundation followed by operating experience.
- Strong understanding of monthly close, financial reporting, and core accounting principles.
- Experience working with external auditors and tax advisors on federal and state tax matters.
- Ability to operate independently, identify accounting issues, challenge assumptions, and apply appropriate judgment.
- Experience managing multiple entities, competing month-end priorities, ambiguity, and changing processes.
Nice to have
- At least two years of audit experience at a Big Four or comparable accounting firm.
- Experience in an early-stage, high-growth, or similarly fast-moving operating environment.
