Brokerage Agent, Imports (Customs Brokerage)

What you will do

• Execute import brokerage operations, customs clearance activities, shipment processing, and in-bond transactions accurately and on time.
• Monitor operational effectiveness, trade compliance, audit results, and district performance metrics.
• Communicate proactively with carriers, customers, service providers, and other interested parties.
• Process customer files, complete accurate billing, and help prevent monetary losses.
• Maintain updated customer legal documents and comply with customer SOPs, company controls, and operational procedures.
• Escalate operational issues to the Lead, Supervisor, or Operations Manager when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in foreign trade or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience in US customs brokerage and hands-on knowledge of customs clearance functions are preferred.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
• Customer satisfaction orientation, strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
• Time management, attention to detail, self-direction, and professional relationship-building skills.
• Good computer skills, including the ability to learn company systems and Microsoft Office applications.
