Lead Design Engineer I - Mechanical (Oil & Gas)

What you will do

• Lead the mechanical equipment engineering group on assigned oil and gas projects.
• Develop conceptual, FEED, and detailed mechanical designs for rotating and packaged equipment.
• Prepare equipment specifications, evaluate technical bids, and review EPC designs and vendor documentation.
• Allocate work, provide appropriate supervision, and coordinate delivery across multiple assignments.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and international and local standards.
• Conduct site investigations, prepare reports, and address safety, quality, and constructability requirements.

Requirements

• Engineering degree in a relevant discipline.
• 15 years of total post-graduation experience, including 10 years of mechanical design experience in the oil and gas industry.
• At least 5 years of experience in the stated designation.
• At least 3 years of experience with automation software.
• Hands-on experience with large gas turbine-driven compressor, pump, and generator packages.
• Experience developing layouts for new facilities and working independently under tight deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience with other packaged equipment.
• Experience specifying, evaluating, and documenting rotating equipment packages in a PMC environment.
