Lead Design Engineer (Industrial Equipment)

Location: Office-based in Kennesaw, GA, US

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical design engineers supporting multiple concurrent projects.
• Oversee the development of detailed 3D models, assemblies, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings.
• Administer and optimize Autodesk Inventor, Vault, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, CAD procedures, work instructions, and best practices.
• Partner with project managers and cross-functional teams to align deliverables with goals and mitigate risks.
• Develop KPI reporting and performance metrics to identify and implement process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering team leadership experience.
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, Vault, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Construction Cloud.
• Experience in workload planning, resource management, and project coordination.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Kennesaw, GA office.

Nice to have

• Experience in EPC environments or heavy industrial equipment design.
• Proficiency with Navisworks or exposure to E3D.
• Experience in manufacturing, fabrication support, or field installation.
• Data analysis and reporting experience.
