Avionics Manufacturing Engineer II (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Support avionics production from design release through production delivery by removing blockers and solving manufacturing problems.
• Optimize and automate manufacturing and test processes to improve quality and throughput.
• Lead the introduction of new products and product revisions into production.
• Resolve production non-conformances and implement root-cause corrective actions.
• Partner with design and other stakeholders to improve manufacturability, standardization, equipment, machines, and facility layouts.
• Develop and maintain planning, production, quality, ERP, data collection, and analysis processes; support integration, testing, and launch operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in the design, manufacturing, or production of mechanical or electrical hardware, including internships or collegiate projects.
• At least 2 years of experience with electronic box builds, battery builds, or cable harness builds.
• Self-motivated, hands-on approach with the ability to solve complex problems with limited supervision.
• Effective communication in technical and non-technical discussions.
• Must meet U.S. Government ITAR requirements: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. authorizations.

Nice to have

• Advanced engineering degree or 5+ years of relevant hardware manufacturing experience.
• Experience establishing high-volume production processes and tracking systems.
• Experience with new product manufacturing processes, equipment procurement, process setup, and 3D CAD modeling.
• Familiarity with IPC standards such as IPC-A-620.
• Experience creating operator work instructions and working with manufacturing execution and quality management systems.
