What you will do

  • Lead the industrialization of additive welding technologies for robust, repeatable, production-ready flight hardware processes.
  • Own the transition from development to production, including process architecture, controls, qualification strategy, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Define data-driven process control strategies using process baselines, control limits, variation studies, and statistical methods.
  • Serve as a technical authority for additive welding, equipment, materials, and manufacturing challenges.
  • Lead technology maturation, evaluation, qualification, and deployment into production manufacturing systems.
  • Guide cross-functional teams in aligning emerging technologies with product requirements, quality, reliability, automation, and performance goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Gas Metal Arc Welding additive manufacturing.
  • Experience with robotic welding systems and working knowledge of industrial automation and control integration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on process efficiency and quality improvement.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to advance manufacturing technologies beyond their current capabilities.

Nice to have

  • Materials science background and understanding of metallurgical behavior in welding applications.
  • Expertise with Fronius welding systems.
  • Experience developing process controls for cladding operations.
  • Experience with process monitoring, data analytics, and closed-loop control strategies.
