Senior Research Associate, Discovery Pharmacology (Aging Biology)

Salary: $109,200–$140,000 per year for the Redwood City location.

What you will do

• Support drug discovery and development projects across a diverse therapeutic portfolio.
• Culture and maintain mammalian cells, manage reagents and working stocks, and contribute to laboratory maintenance.
• Design, optimize, automate, execute, and troubleshoot cellular, biochemical, and complex in vitro bioassays.
• Standardize assay protocols, optimize methods, and draft assay SOPs.
• Document experimental methods, raw data, and results in an electronic laboratory notebook while ensuring reproducibility and data integrity.
• Present assay data at project team meetings to support scientific decision-making.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of industry experience in drug discovery and/or development.
• Expertise in AAV gene therapy cellular transduction assays, aseptic technique, genome titration, transgene expression, and protein analysis.
• Hands-on experience with qPCR, ddPCR, RT-qPCR, Western blot, ELISA, capillary electrophoresis, MSD, HTRF, AlphaLISA, and Luminex.
• Experience with laboratory automation instruments and platforms such as Bravo, Echo, I.DOT, and digital dispensers.
• Strong data analysis, statistical, documentation, communication, organization, and multitasking skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with viral gene therapy, mRNA-LNP, other nucleic acid therapeutics, and small molecules.
• Background in aging or rejuvenation biology.
• Familiarity with assay qualification criteria, processes, and SOP authoring.
