Salary: $84,000–$105,000 for Sr Associate Scientist I; $96,000–$120,000 for Sr Associate Scientist II

What you will do

• Design, synthesize, purify, and characterize chemical compounds at 10 mg–5 g scale using LCMS, HPLC, NMR, and automated parallel synthesis.
• Identify and optimize reaction conditions using screening kits and streamlined methodologies.
• Collaborate with the high-throughput experimentation team on parallel chemistry experiments.
• Analyze biological and ADME-PK data using cheminformatics tools and contribute to project strategy.
• Partner with computational chemists to apply machine learning insights to the design–make–test cycle and platform development.
• Present results, implications, and recommendations to project teams and senior leadership.

Requirements

• BS in Chemistry with 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience, or MS in Chemistry with 3+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience.
• Proven experience in multi-step organic synthesis, reaction optimization, SAR analysis, and scientific presentation.
• Hands-on experience with the drug discovery process and a demonstrated drug hunter mindset.
• Availability to work on-site in San Diego is required.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative research environment.

Nice to have

• Exposure to high-throughput experimentation.
• Familiarity with ADME-PK principles.
• 5+ years contributing to drug discovery projects.
• Experience with molecular modeling and structure-based drug design.
