Engineer I - Software (Embedded)

Location: Santa Rosa, California, United States. The role involves usual business hours and requires access to U.S.-controlled technology; candidates must provide proof of U.S. citizenship, permanent U.S. residency, or protected-individual status.

Annual base salary: $70,304–$143,000, plus restricted stock units and quarterly bonus payments.

What you will do

• Develop, debug, and test embedded software for precise frequency and timing systems.
• Participate in software module design focused on efficiency, reliability, and reusability.
• Learn and apply frequency and timing concepts, communication networks, and related protocols.
• Collaborate with project managers, software engineers, and hardware engineers during product development.
• Partner with system testing teams to analyze, identify, and resolve software defects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 0–2.5 years of relevant software engineering experience, including coursework, internships, projects, or professional experience.
• Working knowledge of C and C++.
• Good understanding of data structures, encapsulated software design, and basic data analysis principles.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship, permanent U.S. residency, or protected-individual status is required for access to export-controlled technology.

Nice to have

• Understanding of product development processes and design controls.
• Understanding of computer networks and TCP/IP communication protocols.
• Understanding of ML/AI concepts or experience using AI tools for software development.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
