Location: Tysons, Virginia; employees work from the office 4 days a week
Base salary: $90,000β$100,000 USD per year

What you will do
- Develop and maintain embedded Linux applications, platform frameworks, and board support packages using C and C++.
- Implement, test, and debug features and bug fixes on real hardware.
- Support device bring-up and validation in collaboration with electrical and mechanical engineers.
- Contribute to device-to-cloud connectivity features with software engineers across teams.
- Participate in code reviews, write unit tests, and document implementation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver projects on schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in computer science, electrical/computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 0β2 years of professional experience; relevant internships, co-ops, research, capstones, or personal projects are accepted.
- Proficiency in C and/or C++, Linux, command-line tools, and Git.
- Exposure to microcontrollers or single-board computers and hardware peripherals such as UART, SPI, I2C, and ADC.
- Foundational electronics knowledge, ability to read circuit schematics, problem-solving skills, and effective communication.

Nice to have
- C++ experience in bare-metal or RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or ThreadX.
- Linux systems knowledge, including threading, processes, asynchronous and messaging-based designs, or embedded libraries.
- Experience with Linux kernels, device drivers, kernel modules, U-Boot, cross-compilation, Yocto, Buildroot, OpenWRT, or Android.
- Knowledge of security protocols, video pipelines, image signal processing, streaming protocols, or running AI models on embedded devices.
