Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake)

Location: Remote in the United States; hiring is available from anywhere in the U.S. except D.C. and Hawaii. Colorado-based employees may work remotely statewide, from the downtown Denver office, or in a hybrid arrangement.

Annual base salary: $155,000–$165,000, depending on experience and qualifications, plus eligibility for a variable annual bonus.

What you will do

• Shape scalable, modular, and performant data systems as a senior technical contributor.
• Design and deliver reliable data pipelines for analytics, reporting, and data science use cases.
• Develop and optimize ELT workflows using Airbyte, Fivetran, dbt, and Python.
• Build and maintain Snowflake data models, including star schemas and dimensional models optimized for AI tools and text-to-SQL interfaces.
• Improve data observability through alerting, monitoring, and incident response, while exploring open table formats such as Apache Iceberg.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud teams on AWS infrastructure, engineering standards, CI/CD, automated testing, and mentoring.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, architecture, or related technical roles involving large-scale data systems.
• Deep experience with SQL and Python for data transformation and automation.
• Hands-on experience with dbt, Airbyte, Fivetran, and Snowflake.
• Strong AWS knowledge, including services such as S3, Lambda, EC2, and IAM.
• Experience with Airflow, data observability and monitoring, Git-based workflows, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and mentor engineers and analytics professionals.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Apache Iceberg or similar open data formats.
• Knowledge of scalable data lakehouse principles.
