Discovery Operations Lead, Litigation & Regulatory (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time.

Annual salary: $220,000–$285,000 USD

What you will do

• Design and operate discovery across the full EDRM lifecycle, including preservation, collection, processing, hosting, review, and production of electronically stored information.
• Own legal hold operations, including custodian workflows, issuance and tracking, acknowledgments, re-notification, and defensible release.
• Administer RelativityOne and preservation and collection tooling across Slack, Google Workspace, internal systems, and other enterprise data sources.
• Build defensible, repeatable discovery playbooks, standard operating procedures, dashboards, metrics, and reporting.
• Manage discovery vendors, including selection, onboarding, statements of work, pricing, service levels, performance reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Legal, Security, IT, engineering, and product teams on information governance, retention, classification, disposition, and data-source readiness.

Requirements

• Hands-on discovery experience across the full EDRM lifecycle and ownership of complex matters or discovery operations.
• Experience founding or rebuilding discovery operations, selecting platforms and vendors, and creating defensible operating playbooks.
• Working knowledge of RelativityOne, search and analytics, TAR or predictive coding, custom applications, and AI workflows.
• Strong understanding of the Federal Rules on discovery and evidence, ESI preservation obligations, and proportionality.
• Experience with enterprise data sources such as Slack, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Box, mobile, and engineering systems.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or professional experience; visa sponsorship is available subject to role and candidate eligibility.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of hands-on discovery experience across the full EDRM lifecycle.
• Experience building discovery operations at a young or fast-scaling company and working with novel ESI.
• Experience integrating generative AI, agentic workflows, cloud infrastructure, APIs, data pipelines, version control, and small scripts into discovery operations.
• Experience operating information governance programs, managing discovery budgets, and improving vendor and operational efficiency.
