Mechanical Engineering Intern - Innovation (Robotics)

Location: Bedford, Massachusetts, United States; full-time onsite work in the Bedford office from August through the end of December, with potential extension through spring

Salary: $17.55–$25.00 per hour

What you will do

• Plan, execute, and document innovation workstreams under the guidance of mechanical engineering staff.
• Test and evaluate robotic components, subsystems, and new designs.
• Assemble or refurbish prototypes and provide feedback on performance-related issues.
• Support CAD design changes and participate in design reviews.
• Design and manufacture test fixtures, develop test metrics, and run validation tests.
• Research adjacent technologies and write reports showing how robots satisfy requirements.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with an outstanding academic record.
• Experience with manufacturing methods, machine shop equipment, and 3D printing.
• Project or work experience using CAD systems such as Creo.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and commute to the Bedford, Massachusetts office.
• Strong communication, teamwork, organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

• Fluency in Mandarin.
