Safety Supervisor (Transportation)

Location: Nashville, Tennessee, United States; on-site

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and implement initial, recurrent, driver, first aid, special education, and other required safety training programs.
• Lead behavioral safety initiatives, safety meetings, recognition programs, and driver road evaluations.
• Monitor safety KPIs, Netradyne alerts, vehicle camera systems, training compliance, accident frequency, and severity metrics.
• Maintain compliance records and regulatory files covering FMCSA, state pupil transportation laws, OSHA, DOT, and district requirements.
• Manage Field Supervisors, Driver Trainers, Master Trainers, and certified driver-trainers.
• Lead injury and vehicle accident response, root-cause investigations, reporting, claims coordination, and customer communication.

Requirements

• At least five years of professional safety management experience in the transportation industry.
• In-depth knowledge of FMCSA regulations, state pupil transportation laws, and OSHA/DOT standards.
• Commercial Driver’s License required.
• Ability to supervise and train a driver workforce and present safety data and findings clearly.
• Experience with vehicle camera and monitoring systems is preferred.

Nice to have

• Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements.
• Certified Safety Professional, Certified Director of Pupil Transportation, or another relevant safety certification.
• SBDI certification.
