TL;DR
Field Repair Technician, 2nd Shift - RMAC (Robotics): Maintaining and repairing Atlas humanoid robots at the Robotic Mobile Application Center with an accent on mechanical assembly, electrical diagnostics, and hardware-software integration. Focus on troubleshooting power distribution, sensor arrays, and communication buses, then validating repairs with Linux, Bash, and Python tools.

Location: On-site in Savannah, United States; 2nd shift, with ability to cover 1st shift as needed. Travel up to 10% of the time, predominantly to the Boston area for training.

Salary: $32–$40 per hour

What you will do

  • Troubleshoot, test, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on Atlas humanoid robots.
  • Complete complex mechanical assemblies and teardowns using precision hand tools and torque wrenches.
  • Diagnose power distribution systems, sensor arrays, and communication bus issues using multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Run hardware health checks in a Linux environment using Bash scripts and Python routines.
  • Collaborate with engineering, software, and operations teams to resolve issues and maximize robot uptime.
  • Track parts consumption and maintain accurate repair inventory records.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with mechanical assembly and teardowns.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and using a multimeter for continuity and voltage testing.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and bills of materials.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • Comfort with Linux command-line operations on Ubuntu or Debian.
  • Automotive, aviation, or specialty repair and maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read and write basic Bash and Python for automating repetitive test sequences.
  • Experience with high-voltage battery systems and complex electromechanical systems.
