Technical Life Sciences Consultant, Pharma (Data Governance)

Location: New York and New Jersey, United States

Salary: Up to $150,000 per year, plus a discretionary bonus opportunity.

What you will do

• Lead senior client workshops, problem framing, solution framing, and end-to-end client advisory.
• Drive opportunity creation, demand generation, RFP/RFI responses, and architectural evaluations.
• Partner with engineering teams, data product owners, and business stakeholders to align architecture with requirements.
• Design and guide cloud-native data platforms and end-to-end solutions on AWS and Databricks.
• Define data modeling, metadata, lineage, data quality, governance, observability, reliability, and operational excellence standards.
• Lead technical execution across complex, multi-team programs and guide designs for scalability, performance, security, and cost optimization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in AI, software development, data engineering, or data architecture, including 5+ years in life-sciences consulting.
• Strong experience with Databricks, dbt Core/Cloud, Python, Spark, SQL, distributed compute paradigms, and Data Vault 2.0, including automate_dv.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services including S3, Glue, Redshift, EMR, DynamoDB, Lambda, Athena, and Kinesis.
• Experience designing scalable data models, ETL pipelines, consumption layers, dashboards, and self-service analytics for relational and non-relational databases.
• Strong grounding in CI/CD, DevOps, static code analysis, test-driven development, cloud migration, logging, monitoring, and observability.
