What you will do

  • Lead end-to-end mechanical design, 3D CAD modeling, and detail engineering for complex high-performance components and assemblies.
  • Perform hand calculations, first-principles design, finite element analysis, and structural and thermal assessments.
  • Translate physics requirements, spatial constraints, and boundary conditions into engineering models and hardware specifications.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analyses and assess part variances against strict design interface requirements.
  • Apply DFM and DFA principles to optimize performance, weight, cost, and lead times.
  • Collaborate with physics, systems engineering, system integration, and manufacturing teams to resolve trade-offs and mitigate technical risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and structural or thermal analysis for complex hardware systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with 3D CAD software such as Creo or SolidWorks.
  • Practical experience with FEA software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or Creo Simulate, including stress, fatigue, thermal, and structural-integrity evaluation.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T under ASME Y14.5, tolerance stack-up analysis, material selection, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals, problem-solving ability, and written and verbal communication skills with experience in cross-functional technical leadership.
