DevOps Engineer (AI)

Location: Washington, DC, United States; hybrid, with on-site customer deployments as needed

Salary: $180,000–$240,000 per year, plus significant equity

What you will do

• Build and deploy application configurations across cloud, on-premises, and air-gapped classified networks.
• Design and maintain architecture for systems combining multiple AI models, backend APIs, and a frontend web application.
• Develop hardened Docker images with efficient Dockerfiles and minimal CVEs.
• Write and improve Helm charts for deployments across varied Kubernetes clusters.
• Improve GitHub Actions CI/CD processes for reliable application and dependency updates.
• Support system accreditation and contribute to deployment strategy, architecture, and company-level technical decisions.

Requirements

• US DoD security clearance at Secret level or higher.
• 4+ years of individual contributor experience as a DevOps engineer in high-stakes environments.
• Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD.
• Strong experience with system design, deployment strategy, and multi-cloud software deployment.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices, especially FedRAMP and NIST 800-53.
• Experience leading and collaborating with engineers, communicating with senior customer stakeholders, and taking ownership of complex problems.
