Field Application Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Fenton, Michigan, United States; fully onsite with frequent travel across the country.

Compensation: $20–$25 per hour, depending on experience, competencies, certifications, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Deploy and operate robotic systems in the field, including drones, quadrupeds, and humanoid robots.
• Support testing, data collection, remote operations, client presentations, and demonstrations.
• Translate technical information clearly for engineers, clients, and other non-technical stakeholders.
• Document technical issues, test results, and client feedback.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and improve operational workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system performance and usability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in team-based environments.
• Willingness to travel frequently across the United States.
• Ability and willingness to work fully onsite in Fenton, Michigan.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with robotics hardware such as drones, quadrupeds, humanoid robots, or similar systems.
• Familiarity with electronics, sensors, and robotic subsystems.
• Basic coding or scripting skills in Python, C++, or similar languages.
• Experience with field testing, remote operations, or client-facing technical roles.
