Project Accounting Manager

What you will do

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the Project Accounting Team and allocate workload across Project Accountants.
• Oversee project setup, unbilled hours, client invoicing, subconsultant invoices, collections support, and billing discrepancy resolution.
• Analyze actual versus forecasted billing projections and prepare project accounting reports and financial analyses.
• Ensure accurate month-end recording of revenue and work in progress, including compliance with revenue recognition policies.
• Resolve escalated project accounting issues and provide financial guidance to Project Managers, Practice Directors, Finance, and other cross-functional teams.
• Improve processes, strengthen financial controls, drive automation, and support internal and external audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive project accounting experience.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems such as Del-Tek, SAP, or Oracle.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional leadership and managing multiple priorities in a complex environment.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
