Senior Software Architect

What you will do

• Lead solution design and architecture reviews for software development initiatives.
• Analyze requirements, define solution scope, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints.
• Translate architectural direction into detailed designs for delivery teams.
• Design system interactions, data flows, and integrations across applications and services.
• Evaluate API, file-based, event-driven, and streaming integration approaches.
• Prepare architecture artifacts and support governance, compliance, and architecture council reviews.

Requirements

• Typically 8+ years of relevant industry experience and a bachelor's degree or comparable combination of education, certifications, and experience.
• Experience translating business goals into functional and non-functional requirements and defining solution boundaries.
• Knowledge of software architecture, solution design, enterprise architecture standards, and governance processes.
• Ability to model business and system workflows, identify failure points, and document interface requirements and constraints.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Gliffy or equivalent diagramming tools.
• Must work in the office in Pittsburgh, Dallas, or Birmingham; employment visa sponsorship and STEM OPT are not available.

Nice to have

• Cloud architecture, migration, and modernization experience.
• Understanding of microservices, containers, streaming platforms, master data management, and batch processing.
• Experience supporting vendor evaluations, selection processes, and RFP-related architecture reviews.
• Experience partnering with product, engineering, security, and enterprise architecture teams.
