TL;DR
Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS GovCloud/Azure Government): Building and operating secure government cloud infrastructure for a polyglot database platform with an accent on compute, storage, networking, Terraform, Kubernetes, and IL5 compliance. Focus on designing scalable infrastructure, implementing disaster recovery and secure connectivity, and maintaining continuous compliance for mission-critical environments.

Location: Remote within the United States; travel may be expected within the DMV area.

Salary: $142,638–$190,280 per year.

What you will do

  • Design, provision, and operate compute, storage, and networking infrastructure in AWS GovCloud or Azure Government.
  • Build scalable infrastructure for relational, graph, document, and object-storage services.
  • Implement Terraform infrastructure as code across development, test, and production environments.
  • Own secure networking, connectivity, DNS, routing, segmentation, and private access patterns.
  • Support database availability, backup, replication, disaster recovery, and Kubernetes infrastructure.
  • Maintain IL5-aligned controls, monitoring, vulnerability remediation, runbooks, capacity planning, and incident support.

Requirements

  • Must currently reside in the United States.
  • Active Top Secret and Security+ clearances are required.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8–10 years of experience, or a master’s degree with 6–8 years of experience; equivalent experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 5 years of cloud infrastructure engineering experience in government cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud or Azure Government, Terraform, secure networking, Kubernetes, and multi-service database infrastructure.
  • Experience with IL5 requirements, compliance tooling, security remediation, RMF, and IC/DoD environments.

Nice to have

  • Ability to obtain an AWS certification within one month after onboarding.
  • Experience owning stable, secure infrastructure foundations and coordinating handoffs with platform, application, data engineering, and security teams.
