Lead Engineer (Gas Utility)

Location: Somerville, MA, United States; primarily office-based, with travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire and emergency restoration assignments as required.

Salary: $145,670–$161,860 annually, with potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Develop, plan, and design additions, modifications, and replacements for gas transmission and distribution systems.
• Supervise, coach, assign, prioritize, and evaluate the work of at least two internal engineers.
• Direct external engineering and consulting resources on designs, scopes, schedules, and technical deliverables.
• Develop and approve multi-year Asset Family Plan activities and support ongoing projects.
• Evaluate system failures, perform root-cause analysis, and implement Gas Engineering corrective actions.
• Provide technical direction to operations and present project progress, study results, and engineering solutions to Gas Business leadership.

Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering.
• At least eight years of technical, operational, or engineering experience in the gas utility industry.
• Knowledge of gas systems, components, design standards, procedures, and gas industry codes.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas and direction effectively in writing and verbally.
• Applicants requiring immigration-related visa sponsorship to start employment will not be considered.
• Availability for emergency restoration assignments, travel to operating districts and facilities, and random drug testing in this safety-sensitive position.
