Location: Onsite at the Demonware Vancouver office, following a hybrid schedule with 4 days per week in the office; a 7-month in-person co-op starts in January 2027.

Salary: CAD 45,202.50–95,655 annually. An earlier statement also lists CAD 65,000 annually as the expected annualized base pay for interns in British Columbia.

Demonware is an Activision studio technology company that delivers online and data services for major game franchises, including Call of Duty and Crash Bandicoot.

What you will do

  • Build multiplayer features, core backend systems, developer tools, and services for large-scale distributed platforms.
  • Design, build, and support scalable data platforms, batch and streaming systems, data pipelines, APIs, and microservices.
  • Maintain and evolve reliable operational architecture and platform services for millions of concurrent users.
  • Work with Kubernetes, automation frameworks, CI/CD systems, and containerization tools to improve reliability and developer experience.
  • Collaborate in design discussions, perform root-cause analysis, and automate workflows across the development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate program.
  • Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2029.
  • Available for a seven-month, in-person co-op starting January 2027.
  • Strong knowledge of Python, C++, Java, or, for data engineering roles, Kotlin; solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and computer science fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with Linux or Unix, Git or similar source control, SQL and database systems, and networking fundamentals including TCP, UDP, and HTTP.
  • Resume and transcript are required; an automated coding assessment is part of the interview process.

Nice to have

  • Experience with MySQL, Kubernetes, CI/CD, RESTful services, web applications, or cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Exposure to Kafka, Spark, Flink, ETL frameworks, streaming architectures, observability tooling, Docker, Airflow, security, or scalability concepts.
  • Bash or Groovy scripting, multi-platform development, open-source contributions, or relevant personal and academic projects.
