Lead Manager, Accounting - Shared Financial Services

Location: Remote within the continental United States; applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Travel up to 10% is required.

Salary: $77,805–$91,536 USD annually, with annual incentive potential.

What you will do

• Lead accounting team members by setting expectations, providing feedback, managing workloads, and supporting leadership development.
• Manage financial reporting for a portfolio of chapters using Shared Financial Services, including bank, investment, and balance-sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
• Review monthly financial statements and close processes, document and explain variances, and monitor performance against budgets and national benchmarks.
• Ensure revenue and payment activity is recorded according to GAAP and organizational policies, using Salesforce for coding and reporting.
• Build relationships with assigned chapters and provide financial reports, queries, and analysis to chapter leadership and Boards of Directors.
• Support annual budgeting, internal and external audits, and indirect-cost allocation studies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting and/or financial reporting.
• At least 2 years of people leadership experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial statement preparation, internal controls, audit processes, and accounting information systems.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel.
• U.S. work authorization is required; employment visa or immigration-process sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Nonprofit accounting or nonprofit organization experience.
• Experience with Salesforce and NetSuite.
• CPA designation.
