Mainframe Network Specialist (z/OS)

What you will do

• Maintain network availability and monitor latency across mainframe and specialized platform environments.
• Configure, support, and troubleshoot mainframe network protocols, including VTAM, on z/OS.
• Analyze and resolve connectivity and performance issues while minimizing business impact.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, application, and other cross-functional teams on network changes and upgrades.
• Document network configurations and maintain security, audit, and compliance standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe network support or administration.
• Experience with z/OS and VTAM environments, including configuring and monitoring mainframe network protocols.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of network security principles, enterprise compliance requirements, network monitoring tools, and incident management processes.
• Intermediate English proficiency required for technical documentation, global-team communication, and incident reporting.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in large-scale or regulated enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of ITIL-based incident and change management processes.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across infrastructure, operations, and application teams.
