Associate Software Engineer

What you will do

• Build and enhance microservices and web applications for constituent- and client-facing government products.
• Design and deliver features and services end-to-end, collaborating with senior engineers on larger system architecture.
• Write unit tests, participate in code reviews, and ensure correctness and security in shipped code.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues while contributing to performance, availability, and security commitments.
• Document architecture decisions, designs, and the systems you maintain.
• Help resolve client and constituent issues and use findings to improve the product.

Requirements

• Computer science degree or equivalent demonstrated capability.
• Strong foundation in a modern object-oriented programming language, including object-oriented design and common design patterns.
• Ability to build and consume web services and APIs using REST and OAuth authentication patterns.
• Exposure to microservices or distributed systems and experience integrating third-party or legacy systems through APIs or SOAP.
• Unit testing discipline, Unix-like environment experience with macOS or Linux, and a Git-based workflow.
• Authorization to work in the United States or Canada without sponsorship; U.S. sponsorship is not available.
