Senior Software Engineer (Distributed Systems)

Base pay: $248,830–$348,361.65 per year for California applicants; Washington applicant range is also $248,830–$348,361.65 per year.

hirify.global develops reusable space vehicles and systems and is building TeraWave, a multi-orbit satellite communications network.

What you will do

• Architect and implement highly available, low-latency control-plane services using microservices patterns.
• Build subscriber provisioning and session-management services for end-to-end network connectivity.
• Develop stateful distributed services operating across terrestrial data centers and orbital nodes.
• Design and optimize SQL, NoSQL, and time-series database schemas for billions of telemetry points.
• Support dynamic, real-time routing and control across a satellite customer-terminal mesh network.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in C++, Rust, or Go.
• Deep experience with distributed systems, including Raft or Paxos consensus algorithms, distributed caching, and message brokers such as Kafka and gRPC.
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted refugees or asylees.
• Ability to complete Blue’s standard background check.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and deploying cloud-native microservices in Kubernetes environments, including EKS, AKS, or bare metal.
• Experience with service mesh and service discovery technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
• Knowledge of circuit breakers, exponential-backoff retries, bulkhead isolation, event sourcing, or CQRS.
• Experience with high-cardinality monitoring and distributed tracing using Prometheus, Jaeger, or OpenTelemetry.
