Associate Optometrist - Walmart (Optometry)

Location: Onsite at 4600 E Main St, Farmington, New Mexico, United States

Annual salary: $135,000–$200,000, plus performance-based bonuses and possible regional pay zone or complex-structure compensation.

What you will do

• Provide evidence-based routine vision care, prescribe medications, and recommend treatment options for conditions such as red eye, cataracts, and other ocular diseases.
• Educate patients and store associates on eye health, contact lens care, disease management, and safety.
• Consult with other health professionals to develop patient care plans within the applicable state optometry scope of practice.
• Use digital phoropters, EMR/EHR systems, and Maestro OCT/retinal camera technology.
• Support optical operations, prescription procedures, patient concerns, associate training, and regulatory standards.
• Promote patient safety, quality care, HIPAA compliance, accurate billing, and continuous operational improvement.

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry school.
• Active optometrist license in good standing in the state of practice.
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems.
• Experience treating and managing ocular disease.
• Ability to work onsite at the Farmington, New Mexico location and follow state board, healthcare, and optical compliance requirements.
