Field Technology Specialist - Grand Forks ND

Location: Grand Forks, ND, USA; travel of up to 85% may be required.

Salary: $25–$40 per hour; full-time, non-exempt.

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems for physical security and IT infrastructure.
• Deploy cameras, access control devices, power supplies, biometric systems, locking hardware, and related equipment.
• Install video and data cabling, assemble hardware with standard tools, and follow technical drawings and design specifications.
• Evaluate system performance, provide quality assurance feedback, and support Windows environment hardening and configuration.
• Coordinate project materials and equipment, track hardware receipts, and support timely delivery of project deliverables.
• Work across indoor and outdoor project environments, including ladders, heights, and equipment handling.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in low-voltage installation, security systems, or IT hardware deployment.
• Strong understanding of IP-based systems and networking fundamentals.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, schematics, and design plans; basic electrical theory is required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain government-issued security clearances.
• Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, lift equipment, and adapt to shifting field priorities.
• Readiness to travel approximately 85% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience installing and maintaining video surveillance systems.
• A+, Network+, Security+, BICSI, or similar industry certification.
