Writing Associate Producer (Video Production)

Location: Hybrid role based in New York, NY, or Washington, D.C.; unrestricted authorization to work in the United States required.

Salary: $75,000–$80,000 yearly

What you will do

• Write, edit, and produce vertical video and original YouTube content from concept through completion.
• Generate daily and long-term video pitches responding to the political news cycle.
• Adapt compelling moments from linear programming for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other digital platforms.
• Create graphics, carousels, thumbnails, headlines, scripts, chyrons, and other editorial copy.
• Produce content for MS NOW digital platforms, social channels, direct-to-consumer products, and weekend programming.
• Collaborate with producers, assignment editors, booking, graphics, research, digital, and technical operations teams during daily, breaking-news, and special-event coverage.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of journalism, television news, digital journalism, social media editing, producing, writing, or comparable newsroom experience.
• Experience editing and producing original digital video, with strong scriptwriting and editorial judgment.
• Proficiency with native editing and publishing tools across major social media platforms.
• Strong research, writing, organizational, communication, and deadline-management skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during breaking news and special events.
