Director, Clinical Pharmacology

Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week in Lake County, Illinois; listed address in North Chicago, Illinois

Salary: USD 182,000–346,000 per year, plus eligible short- and long-term incentive programs

What you will do

• Lead Clinical Pharmacology, PK/PD, and pharmacometrics activities across multiple major drug development projects.
• Provide scientific and strategic recommendations to R&D leadership, regulatory agencies, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Assess project risks, develop contingency plans, and manage timelines, deliverables, and competing priorities.
• Review clinical protocols and scientific reports and lead regulatory document preparation, submissions, and responses.
• Conduct due diligence assessments and represent Clinical Pharmacology on business development teams.
• Lead departmental and cross-functional teams while mentoring personnel, managing performance, and resolving conflicts.

Requirements

• PhD with typically 9+ years of relevant experience, PharmD with typically 11+ years, master’s degree with typically 17+ years, or bachelor’s degree in science or a related field with typically 19+ years of relevant experience.
• Relevant experience in PK, PBPK, PK/PD, pharmacometrics, systems pharmacology, drug metabolism, or transporters.
• Strong leadership experience in PK/PD, biopharmaceutics, and pharmacometric activities across complex projects.
• Experience across multiple drug development phases and therapeutic or functional areas.
• Demonstrated project management skills covering scope, progress, people, and time management.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement three days per week in Lake County, Illinois.
