Staff Product Manager (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Hybrid work required at least three days per week at a GM location in Warren or Milford, Michigan, or Sunnyvale or Mountain View, California. Immigration-related sponsorship is not available, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, and J-1 support.

Salary: $134,700–$245,00 annual base salary, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for customer-facing autonomous-driving features across vehicle programs and technology generations.
• Translate customer insights, competitive intelligence, telemetry, quality data, and business objectives into product requirements, capability definitions, and priorities.
• Partner with product capability, systems engineering, autonomy engineering, UX/HMI, safety, quality, program management, marketing, and vehicle teams.
• Lead planning and execution for feature launches, software releases, staged rollouts, configuration, validation, and in-market iterations.
• Define and monitor adoption, engagement, utilization, trust, quality, safety, and business metrics using research, simulator and track studies, fleet data, and experimentation.
• Identify dependencies and risks, drive mitigation and simplification, and communicate product decisions and progress to working teams and senior leaders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product management or closely related experience owning complex technology products or cross-functional initiatives from concept through launch.
• Experience defining product vision and strategy, building multi-year roadmaps, and translating strategy into measurable requirements and outcomes.
• Deep understanding of advanced driver-assistance or automated-driving systems, or equivalent complex hardware-software systems.
• Ability to reason about vehicle, compute, sensing, software, HMI, and operational constraints.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing engineering, design, safety, quality, program management, marketing, and business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, written, verbal communication, and decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping customer-facing advanced driver-assistance or automated-driving features in production vehicles.
• Experience with software-enabled vehicles, over-the-air delivery, feature gating, staged rollouts, or fleet-scale iteration.
• Knowledge of driver trust, human-machine interaction, cognitive load, and situational awareness in automated-driving experiences.
• Experience integrating vehicle hardware, sensors, compute, HMI, embedded software, and companion or cloud services.
• Master’s or doctoral degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
