What you will do

• Lead and develop an autonomous squad of approximately 3–4 software engineers.
• Plan squad work, delegate responsibilities, and support delivery of engineering projects.
• Facilitate stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.
• Set performance goals, provide feedback, conduct code and performance reviews, and support people development.
• Promote code quality, technical best practices, experimentation, and operational efficiency.
• Support hiring through interviews and candidate assessments, and report squad progress across the Engineering organisation.

Requirements

• Expertise in Java or a similar object-oriented language, with willingness to learn Java.
• Experience with Spring, Hibernate, RESTful APIs, microservices, AWS, and PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and software testing methodologies including TDD and BDD.
• Experience designing, optimizing, and managing relational databases.
• Previous experience managing or mentoring multisite technical teams in an agile environment.
• Strong technical leadership, stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and software engineering experience.
