TL;DR
Sr. Hardware Engineer (Embedded Systems): Designing processor, FPGA, mixed-signal, camera sensor, and embedded hardware platforms for healthcare and advanced manufacturing applications with an accent on high-speed digital interfaces, board bring-up, and validation. Focus on developing complex digital hardware, debugging prototypes, supporting manufacturing readiness, and resolving sustaining engineering issues.

Location: Brno, Czech Republic; hybrid work with working from home permitted for a maximum of two days per week

What you will do

  • Design and develop processor, FPGA, mixed-signal, camera sensor, and embedded hardware platforms.
  • Design high-speed digital interfaces including DDR memory, Ethernet, USB, MIPI CSI/DSI, and LVDS.
  • Perform schematic capture, guide PCB layout, bring up boards, debug hardware, and conduct verification testing.
  • Support new product introduction through design reviews, prototype validation, and manufacturing readiness activities.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support, including component replacement, cost reduction, root-cause investigations, and field issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with software, FPGA, mechanical, manufacturing, test engineering teams, contractors, and design partners; support EMC, safety, and product compliance activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field, plus 5 or more years of hardware development experience.
  • Strong experience with complex digital hardware, embedded systems, FPGA-based systems, and high-speed digital design.
  • Experience with board bring-up, validation, manufacturing support, sustaining engineering, and contract manufacturers.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer or similar PCB design tools.
  • Hands-on experience with electronics prototyping, soldering, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, and other laboratory instruments.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and legal eligibility to work in the Czech Republic are required. Occasional business travel is expected.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to collaborative engineering teams.
